Find Your School 

The Vernon Parish School Board operates 19 schools with an enrollment of 9,679 students.  Of these 20 schools, 5 are K-12 schools, 7 are elementary schools, 2 are middle/junior high schools, 4 are high schools, 1 is a Gates Options Program for grades 8-12, and 1 is an Optional School for grades 7 -12.

Uniform Policy

All public schools in Vernon Parish require students to wear school uniforms.  See pages 7-10 in the linked Vernon Parish Student Handbook.  


Head Start

Head Start is a federally funded program for low-income children who will be three years old on or before September 30.


Louisiana Grade Level Expectations

It is important for parents to know and understand the grade level expectations (GLE) for their children.  GLE help parents understand the importance of specific knowledge and skills in each grade level.


Parent Communication Center

The Parent Communication Center is an online site for parents to stay abreast of their children's progress.  The Parent Communication Center gives parents access to their child's attendance, grades, progress reports and teacher's lesson plans at all grade levels.

The Vernon Parish School System is ranked 6th in the State on the State District Performance Score. We continue to strive to provide quality educational experiences for our students.
